Hilda Jerea

Hilda Jerea was a prominent figure in Romanian music, excelling as a pianist, conductor, and composer. Her compositional output includes notable works, with the large-scale oratorio Under the Wake-Up Sun, created in 1951, being particularly renowned. Throughout her career, Jerea shared her expertise with future generations, holding teaching positions at esteemed institutions such as the Bucharest School of Art and the Bucharest Conservatory.

Jerea's contributions to music extended beyond composition and education, as she also founded the Musica Nova Chamber Orchestra.
