Jennie Rosenfeld

Jennie Rosenfeld is a trailblazing figure in modern-day Israel, holding a significant position within the Orthodox Jewish community. Her appointment as the spiritual leader of Efrat, a role known as manhiga ruhanit, marked a historic milestone as the first woman to assume such a position. This appointment, made by Orthodox Rabbi Shlomo Riskin in January 2015, entrusted her with the responsibility of addressing residents' inquiries on halacha, or Jewish law.

Rosenfeld's leadership and expertise have been further recognized through her subsequent appointment as the administrator of the local rabbinical court. This court, which handles property claims, benefitted from her oversight beginning in November 2016.
